Google Apps … I like it!

by Sumit Chachra August 27, 2006

The concept is simple. You have a 1-N person company and have the domain www.mystartup.com. You want to provide all your employees with basic email, Instant Messaging, Calendaring etc. capabilities. All of the above can be bought or set up in some ad-hoc manner. But this is where Google Apps comes in. It gives you [...]

Google (Checkout) encouraging clicking on ads

by Sumit Chachra July 26, 2006

My last blog post was on Google checkout (I like the product). This one focuses on something new I saw today. Google using its most expensive real estate (www.google.com) to promote checkout as a “faster, safer online shopping” method.

Now had they been simply linking to the checkout homepage I wouldn’t have even blogged about it! [...]

by Sumit Chachra June 8, 2006

So everyone’s busy talking about Google Spreadsheets all over the internet. I won’t repeat things here but I would like to point out some really fancy stuff I noticed:

Not only can you share spreadsheets… you can literally chat in real time with the other person. Any changes made by the either person to the spreadsheet [...]

ICRA 2006

by Sumit Chachra May 18, 2006

I should have been in FLorida today attending ICRA 2006 (International Conference on Robotics and Automation). Due to lack of time, resources and inclination I wasn’t able to make it. Would have been nice to go out to Florida and meet up with the brightest people in the field at THE technical conference for Robotics. [...]

Let the search war begin!

by Sumit Chachra May 1, 2006

Just read the NYT article (requires registration) about how Google is against the idea of MSN being the default search (in the box on the top right) for Internet Explorer 7.
Google estimates that the boxes, when available, are the starting point for 30 to 50 percent of a user’s searches, making them a crucial gateway [...]
